This completion also incorporates the last page of Mozart's fragment (up to bar 110). The letters M. and B. throughout the score indicate which parts were composed by Mozart or the arranger, respectively.
To make it more accessible, this completion is intended for the more common standard clarinet, despite Mozart's intention having been a basset clarinet. With the exception of a low E-flat that Mozart wrote in the existing fragment, it does not use the basset notes; and an alternative is provided to play this note an octave up. The completion writes up to written g for the clarinet, which appears in the Clarinet Concerto (third movement, bar 92).
The main theme of the fragment is based on Ferrando's aria "Ah, lo veggio" from Così fan tutte, K.588, and this completion borrows significantly from it.
