Misc. Notes

The 1843 print by Schott (which was based on the first edition, published by Troupenas, and on the composer’s own corrections) served as the basis for a revision by Vieuxtemps himself. In a letter to Schott dated September 2, 1862, Vieuxtemps expressed his desire to revise the edition. He had made changes and cuts (Source: D-Bs 55 Nachl 100/B,19832). On November 5, 1862, he sent the revisions to Schott (D-Bs 55 Nachl 100/B,19834). This copy (preserved in the Schott Archive D-Mbs Mus.Schott.Ha 7530-3) includes numerous strikethroughs, autograph additions, and corrections. The revised edition was not published by Schott until 1864.
