If the cover or inner title page of the book excerpted here has "1957" (does it?), then "n.d.(1957)" is incorrect; one can't scan the inner pages of a book with a valid copyright and then claim "n.d." because one has only scanned the inner pages (US copyright law doesn't require that every single last page have a copyright notice, just the cover page and/or the inner title and/or the last page- or somewhere appropriate. (Though ultimately what matters is valid renewal anyway.)
