Remarques diverses

Original artsong in D♭ major, for low voice. Despite the indications at the top of this piece, it was modified somewhat (besides being transposed to E♭ major) for the opera The Noblewoman Vera Sheloga, Op.54, which itself derives from the first act of Mey's play The Maid of Pskov and constitutes the separable prologue to the composer's opera of the same name.
