UNTITLED Three watercolors for 17 flutes

Premiered at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and shortly after at Darmstadt Festival in Germany in 1986, this work reflects on painting techniques and especially the watercolor: The score seen as a drawing, writing music takes these elements so the white paper is the silence and as the graph density increases, the musical density is higher (in watercolor transparency is an element that must be cared for). So sign up features that are different shades, half-tones, textures, etc., resulting in a pictorial music.. or music painted?. The instruments are divided into 17 flutes: 4 groups consisting of piccolo, flute, alto flute, bass flute, and must be arranged around the public in order to establish sound play in space, finally a bass flute to the center, the role of this is not as soloist, but low register area who completes the set.

The title "Untitled" refers to the experience that walking in a gallery and seeing the pictures, suddenly you finds a painting whose title is "Untitled" and while this re-sent to the cerebral cortex or the deep imagination of the viewer , who is seeking a degree according to the painting he is admiring. Also important in this piece is when the viewer "walk out" of a picture, takes a void that is the wall itself and "enter" in the following picture. This empty wall space that lies between the pictures, the viewer so "temporize" integrate or "texturing" the rhythm of his walk-perception. All this is inscribed in this sounding “score-watercolor”...
