- The editorial claim is probably an attempt to attain US copyright protection after initial publication without notice - OR, you know, PERHAPS NOT?, since this is an entirely different publisher and several years after the first edition. The Augener Edition was issued in 1902 or earlier (receipt by HMB noted in Monatsbericht 1902 165, but perhaps published somewhat earlier); the original Stanley Lucas edition was issued in 1896.
